Creating a bountiful life…
Creating a bountiful life...
Recently, I joined the stay-cation-vibe at a trendy nearby farm-to-table venue in San Jose del Cabo, Acre. I also had a glorious cornucopia of yumminess while participating in a cooking class at Los Tamarindos, as well frequent the beautiful brunch offering at Flora Farms; otherwise known by my friends as my “Sunday church” (please don’t be judgy; they do serve wine after-all). Both locales are also farm-to-table choices.
One of the numerous reasons I love the farm-to-table concept is the abundance of colorful healthy choices available. Nutritious and delicious! It occurred to me that a garden filled with an array of colorful delights and options may serve as a metaphor for the choices we make everyday. For instance, if I choose to begin my day by making a healthy choice of how to fuel my body, from the plethora of choices I have as a single empty-nester, that’s one great decision and it’s only 7am! No, I have not given up coffee as of yet, however I do use almond milk as my creme. Small steps to greatness...!
We are offered many choices as we meander through the bountiful-garden of our lives and I’m curious as to which veggie, fruit or flower will you pick in each moment? What will ultimately fill your basket so that it is overflowing with joy? What do you want to plant and grow? Is it a temporary annual or a long-lasting perennial? Will you plant “runners” like mint or raspberries that easily propagate or become invasive? Sustainable? Possibly your garden is a community garden that requires shared collective involvement?
I recall walking about the gardens each morning and how it occurred to me how mindful and inspired I felt during that moment. My senses heightened with memories of gardens-past and the excitement of the new garden I want to create. What a blessing that we may plant, water and tend to our garden as we choose. From the first seedling we plant to mindfully watching the blooming of our glorious harvest, we are our life’s- gardener. How does your garden grow...?
